Revelation 5 (Click here to read the whole passage.)
9 And they sang a new song, saying:
“You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased for God
persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth.”
One of my favourite parts of being a musician is the friendships I’ve made over the years with colleagues in the industry. This week I got to do a song swap with my fellow “musical sister” Amy Savin, and I chose her song “Unveiled (All Will See).” Check out the glorious picture painted by the lyrics in the chorus:
“All will see who You are
The unveiled God, so beautiful
All will know what You’re like
Love poured out through sacrifice
All the world will see, all the world know
You, the risen King, are so beautiful!”
It reminds me of the scene described in Revelation 5 in the throne room of God:
9 And they sang a new song, saying:
“You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals,
because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased for God
persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth.”
11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. 12 In a loud voice they were saying:
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain,
to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and praise!”
13 Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying:
“To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb
be praise and honor and glory and power,
for ever and ever!”
It’s a mosaic of cultures, tribes, languages, ethnicities creating a beautiful masterpiece of worship to God!
As we celebrate cultural diversity, we’re demonstrating a glimpse of heaven! He made us all different on purpose, for a purpose. What a creative God we serve!!
Reflection: How can I celebrate and embrace cultural diversity in my community?

LYRICS
Unveiled (All Will See)
By Amy Savin
Verse 1:
Father in heaven, the ancient one
The yearning of a thousand generations
Holy forever, mysterious God
Revealed to us in flesh, the living Word
Peace on earth
Chorus:
All will see who you are
The unveiled God, so beautiful
All will know what you’re like
Love poured out through sacrifice
All the world will see
All the world will know
You, the risen King
Are so beautiful
Verse 2:
Jesus, you teach us the Father’s heart
You are the mark; the essence of His nature
No love is greater; you gave your life
The creator died to save the created
We are free
Chorus
Bridge:
We’ll shout it from the mountains:
“Perfect love has conquered death and sin!"
Jesus - forever your compassion
Is our song; an anthem with no end
