A NOTE FROM CHELSEA
I have always recognized that music is a powerful way to make a positive impact and I never want to waste that opportunity. That is why my lyrics are wrapped in faith and hope. However, I don't want to be someone who sings about hope from the stage but doesn't actually do anything about it. I began to pray about what direction I should take to make a lasting difference. Not long after that prayer, I saw the answer in Compassion Canada.
Compassion Canada is a Christian child development organization working around the world to be the hands and feet of Jesus, releasing children from poverty in Jesus' name.
Compassion's mode of operation can be summarized in six words: "Christ-centered. Child-focused. Church-based." Poverty is fought in Jesus' name, children are ministered to in a holistic, individualized manner, and the work is done through the local church.
It is a huge honour to represent this amazing organization that operates with such financial and operational integrity. It is pure joy to see people sponsor children at my concerts.
Proverbs 31: 8-9
(NIV)
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Dr. Wess Stafford,
President Emeritus of Compassion International
Nurturing a child's sense of personal worth and therefore hopes and dreams for a wonderful future is perhaps the most important responsibility of every grown-up in a child's life.
Proverbs 14:21
(NIV)
It is a sin to despise one’s neighbor, but blessed is the one who is kind to the needy.
